In February of 2014, Dale Earnhardt Jr. earned the DAYTONA 500® victory. It was not only a monumental win in his legendary career, but another milestone triumph in the decorated history of Hendrick Motorsports. This May, in celebration of the 40th anniversary season for the iconic Hendrick Motorsports organization and the 10th anniversary of Dale Jr.’s second DAYTONA 500® victory, Chase Elliott will be turning back the clock with a special throwback look at Darlington Raceway. Elliott will battle for the win at Darlington with a No. 9 UniFirst Chevrolet Camaro that will sport a paint scheme inspired by the one Dale Jr. drove to DAYTONA® Victory Lane 10 years earlier, complete with the same red, white, and blue color scheme with gold accents that were on Dale Jr.’s winning No. 88 National Guard Chevrolet. Lionel Racing, the Official Die-cast of NASCAR, is excited to not only release a die-cast of Elliott’s 2024 No. 9 UniFirst Throwback car to fans, but also a never-before-produced 2014 DAYTONA 500® green flag edition of Dale Jr.’s No. 88 National Guard car. Elliott’s 2024 throwback die-cast is available on Lionel Racing’s latest Next Gen tooling in both 1:24 and 1:64 scales. Each 1:24-scale replica is available in two different trim levels – an Action Racing Collectables (ARC) hood-open model and a fully die-cast ELITE version that features an opening hood and trunk, a removable chassis plate that shows undercarriage details and more. Lionel Racing is making a unique two-pack of die-cast available for order. This set will include Elliott’s throwback car and the green flag edition of Dale Jr.’s 2014 National Guard car from DAYTONA. Just how the car started the winning race day is how this die-cast will be produced. The two-car sets are available in 1:24-scale in both their respective ARC and ELITE editions. Each two-car pack will come in specially-designed packaging.
